Is moozoom scientifically validated?

How moozoom was designed by psychologists and educators.

moozoom was designed by psychologists and educators to reflect best practices in using high-quality media to teach SEL skills. These practices are rooted in psychological and pedagogical research. Foundation research that guided moozoom program design includes:

CASEL alignment

In addition, each moozoom lesson teaches skills aligned to one or more of the five social and emotional competencies defined by the Collaborative Academic for Social Emotional Learning (CASEL), including Self Awareness, Self Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision Making. CASEL competencies were developed with a team of researchers and are widely accepted as the foundational competencies for SEL.

Continued Research

As part of our commitment to continuous quality improvement, moozoom is currently partnering with educational psychologists at SRI International (formerly Stanford Research Institute) on a pre and post-survey that will provide a rigorous assessment of student learning as a result of engagement with moozoom. These assessments will serve school leaders and teachers by helping them understand the SEL skill acquisition process. They will also inform moozoom's agile development process and continuous quality improvement.
